We have found that when each person takes responsibility for their part of the marital problems, the marriage can thrive. That growth is more likely to happen without the spouse present. Rachael believes the goal of counseling is to help individuals and marriages persevere through challenging times to find their full potential. Her therapeutic approach promotes an environment of acceptance and compassion. She believes that a positive therapeutic relationship between a therapist and client is essential to the growth process. She will work to create a collaborative, warm and comfortable environment in which clients can feel free to explore. Rachael incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a client-centered approach to promote a non-judgment self-acceptance, and behavior change in the areas of mindfulness, emotion regulation, relational effectiveness, and distress tolerance. Her clinical interests include couple counseling, trauma, religious and spiritual issues, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and difficult adjustments.
